Expert Advice | Acne Breakouts

Here are some common questions we get asked at The Skin Investment Clinic

Why am I breaking out, and how can I stop it?

Breakouts happen due to excess oil, clogged pores, bacteria, and hormones. To prevent them, wash your face twice daily, use oil-free skincare products, and avoid touching your face.

What’s the best way to get rid of pimples fast?

Apply a benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid spot treatment, avoid picking, and use ice to reduce swelling.

Does what I eat affect my skin?

Yes, for some people. Dairy, high-sugar foods, and processed foods may trigger breakouts. Eating a balanced diet with fruits, vegetables, and omega-3s can help.

How do I prevent acne scars?

Avoid picking at pimples, use SPF daily, and treat acne early. If scars develop, dermatological treatments like chemical peels or laser therapy may help.

Should I pop my pimples, or is that bad?

It’s best not to pop them. Popping can cause infection, scarring, and more breakouts. Use a warm compress or an acne patch instead.
